Dear LCDLA Members:

I spoke with Lubbock County Court Administrator David Slayton today, and he informed me that by December 1, we should be on-line with Lubbock County computer service. We will have access to all criminal and civil case information, the capability to download all criminal and civil scanned documents, etc. Family law case information will not be accessible.

The Board of Judges is to adopt the new Texas Supreme Court rules regarding public electronic access, and I will be getting that information to you as soon as I can.

Each lawyer (law firm?) will be assigned a log-in ID and password, and David contemplates a $360 per year ($30 per month) service fee. Proceeds from this fund will be used to improve courtroom technology, David said.

I will try to keep everyone informed.
